As 2009 fades into nothing but a memory, the residents of the Red Planet prepare to welcome in the first Earth year* of the new decade
With a hectic and, some might argue, plagued year finally coming to an end, expectations for the new year are running high. And thus far, it has yet to disappoint, with membership reaching an unprecedented high and the absence (if only temporary) of the dreaded multi clones.
So what does the forseeable future hold for Mars? In celebrating the arrival of the new year, LoTCookie interviews several LoT members and gazes into their respective crystal seeing balls to see what they hold...
Cookster, when questioned, admitted that he had something to say about the new year, 'I have a suprise for everyone that will be revealed at the end of the set,' , refusing to say more. The #1 LoT consumer of tractor grease was unwilling to share more on the matter at that time.
The remaining interviews did not seem to have such a serious tone to them. HellsCrusader, former head of LoT's military division and Top Netter for the set before last, looked almost puzzled. 'The new year? Umm.... it better have more ladies, because in 3 years we are doomed!!?' he shouted while shaking his fist before running off. As LoT's resident zombie and fish lover Montrillian was approached, his reply was, 'It's gonna be a hectic new year.' though no reason was given.
In many regards, it was a joyous occasion to be celebrating the new year, as it was for the top marksman and master assassin (and unofficially, Official Humper) of LoT, Iggy. 'The New Year - will be very good for me... we will be expecting another member of the family in Febuary. All in all it will be a blessed year for me.' Seeing the warm smile radiating from his face is all it takes to put a similar smile on anyone else's as well.
Some had little to say, for example Berretta, the head of the Economics Division and LoT's Top Netter for this set, who stated, 'hhmmmm, no thoughts on the new year...' while others were more expressive. CLM, the Pink Princess of LoT certainly had high hopes for the coming year. 'In regards to the new year Im hopeful but not holding my breath. Would love to find people to take over certain jobs here in LoT. Get this place active again. Make a real go of recruiting and training noobs. I dont care where they are from as long as they dont hate me...'(certain parts of the interview not revealed upon request)
All in all, a good year seems to be on the horizon. Happy New Year Mars!
